Brent J. Lehmkuhl, PE, RCDD , and Robert B. Williams, CCM, CxA , have been named principals at the RTKL Assocs ., Chicago. Jennifer Barnes , vice president and director of Interiors at the Baltimore office has been named Facility Planning and Design Forum Advisor for the Interior Design Assoc. She began her two-year term in July. In addition, Leonardo Gonzalez and Vincent Saturno, PE, LEED AP , have been promoted to associates. Both are electrical engineers in the firm’s Baltimore MEP engineering studio. Robert Pielow joined Leo A. Daly , Omaha, Neb., as a fire protection life safety engineer. Pielow has more than 30 years of experience developing life safety programs for complex buildings and is a registered fire protection engineer in Washington and Nevada. TBE Group, Clearwater, Fla., announces promotions of several associates. David O’Connor, PE, has been promoted to assistant director. He has been with TBE since 2000 and is responsible for the project management of TBE’s water and waterwater services. Christerpher Proulx has been promoted to director for TBE Group, Orlando, Fla. He will remain in his roles as corporate safety director and director of 3-D underground imaging services. Ken Slaninka, PE , has been promoted to assistant director and will remain as a senior project manager/branch leader for the Northern Region Indianapolis office. Randy Seaver has been promoted to assistant director and remains senior project manager/branch leader for the Northern Regional Pennsylvania office. Travis Isaacson, PE , has been promoted to assistant director and will continue as senior project manager for the Austin, Texas, office for TBE Group.

The National Council of Examiners of Engineering and Surveying named Promod Kumar , PE , vice president and director of MEP engineering at St. Louis-based KAI Design & Build, to its Committee on Examinations for Professional Engineers. Also at KAI Design & Build, Cindy Bright has been promoted to manager of marketing and corporate communications. Cannon Design expanded its offices to Phoenix. The firm’s work in Arizona has included more than 25 projects, including student recreation areas for both Arizona State University and the University of Arizona.

The Construction Specifications Institute , Alexandria, Va., announced that Gilman K. M. Hu, FCSI, AIA , assumed the presidency July 1. Hu is an architect in private practice in Honolulu and is the first CSI president to come from the Honolulu CSI chapter. Peter Basso Assocs ., Troy, Mich., announced that David A. Conrad , Scott T. Peck , and Joseph R. Seidl have passed final examinations of the Professional Engineers exam and are now licensed in Michigan. Conrad is an associate and mechanical engineer with the firm, Peck is a project leader and electrical engineer, and SEidl is a project leader and mechanical engineer. Newcomb & Boyd , Atlanta, announces new hires and licensures. Miles F. Holcombe joined the firm as a security engineer, Jared A. Glimcher joined the firm as an acoustical engineer, Robert C. Grant joined as a plumbing engineer, and Julian Z. Parham joined as a mechanical engineer. Ashley R. Staples has become a LEED AP. Scott King, LEED AP , and Kai Chi Wong are now engineers-in-training. BSA LifeStructures , Indianapolis, Chris W. Lake, AIA , director of the Fast>Forward group, Kelsey Leap , design professional of Architectural Services, Daniel Miles, PE , director of engineering planning and design, and Kathryn A. Minx , recently earned Judith Purnam has been named sustainability specialist at Sebesta Blomberg , Minneapolis. Purman has more than 20 years of experience in the environmental sector.

The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey has retained Mactec Engineering and Consulting Inc. , Alpharetta, Ga., to provide inspection services for the National Sept. 11 Memorial & Museum. Kishor Khankari , PhD, has been named as associate partner at Syska Hennessy Group , Chicago. He joins the firm’s Sustainable Design and High Performance Building Technology practice.
