Ginger Greager, marketing manager for Peter Basso Assocs., Troy, Mich., earned the designation of Certified Professional Services Marketer. The firm also announced that Bernard T. Fuertez and Paul Potapa joined as electrical engineer and electrical designer, respectively, in the corporate/governmental group. In addition, Kevin Rettich, senior vice president, passed the LEED AP exam.
EwingCole, Washington, D.C., announced that John Michael Currie, AIA, FRSH, joined the firm. Currie brings more than 34 years of experience in healthcare planning and design for government agencies, academic science centers, and private sector healthcare organization to EwingCole.
Peters, Tschantz & Bandwen announces its name change to Peters, Tschantz & Assocs. The Akron, Ohio-based firm also changed its website to www.ptaengineering.com.
Grant Schmidt, CPD, LEED AP, passed ASHRAE’s Healthcare Facility Design Profressional exam. Schmidt is a senior engineer and healthcare market segment leader at KJWW, Rock Island, Ill.
William D. Bennett, PE, has been appointed president and chairman of the board for the Amiercan Council of Engineering Companies of Minnesota for 2007-2008. Bennett is the CEO of LHB, Duluth, Minn., an engineering and architecture firm.
IA Naman + Assocs., Houston, named John J. Burdin, PE, and John H. Sparks, PE, vice presidents. Burdin also has been appointed to the firm’s board of directors. Burdin joined the firm in 1994, and Sparks has served the firm since 1977.
The Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center in San Leandro, Calif., earned USGBC LEED Gold certification. HOK, San Francisco, led the design of the project.
The University of Minnesota, Morris, selected LHB, Minneapolis, to provide design services to the school’s Green Prairie Living and Learning Community.
Energy Systems Design, Wayland, Mass., announced the following promotions: Kurt Langholz, Henry Melcher, and Nate Zachreson have been named vice presidents, Bill Schubert has been named senior associate, and Ali Ardebili and Halleh Landon have been named associates.
The U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS) selected EwingCole, Philadelphia, to design a new campus. USMAPS is set to open in 2011 and be adjacent to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.
