James Posey Associates, Baltimore, has elected Kevin McCarthy to serve as vice president and principal. He is a PE, LEED AP, and ASHRAE certified Healthcare Facility Design Professional, and he has been with the firm since 1992.

Lane Coburn & Associates LLC, Woodinville, Wash., has hired Michael Cailao, LC, IESNA as associate/senior electrical designer. Cailao is the department manager of the firm’s Lighting Design Group.

Houston-based Smith Seckman Reid Inc. has hired four new employees at its Southwest division. Thomas Bakane has been named a mechanical engineer and Michael Brown has been named a senior communications consultant in the firm’s Denver office. In addition, Mitch McKinley has been named a communications consultant in the company’s Dallas office, and Bill White has been named senior communications consultant in the firm’s Houston office.

Affiliated Engineers Inc., Madison, Wis., has selected Thomas Anthony to serve as its Healthcare Information Technology Market Leader. Anthony will be responsible for expanding the firm’s technology consulting practice with healthcare clients throughout the country.

Greenman-Pedersen Inc., Rockville, Md., added Rabee Zuberi as a mechanical intern; Rabee will return to study at the University of Maryland this fall to earn his Bachelors Degree in mechanical engineering while working for the firm on a part-time basis. In addition, Juan Perez has joined the company as a senior mechanical design engineer, and LaToya Godette joined on as a marketing assistant.

Emerson Climate Technologies, St. Louis, has announced two appointments within its White-Rodgers and Flow Controls divisions.

V&A, Las Vegas, has named Joy D. Gaston manager of project development. Gaston will work from the company’s main office and oversee project development efforts throughout southern California, southern Nevada, and Arizona.

MACTEC Engineering and Consulting Inc., Alpharetta, Ga., has appointed Keith McGuinn senior vice president, and director of sales and marketing. McGuinn will be responsible for managing, directing and coordinating companywide sales/marketing functions.

Capaccio Environmental Engineering, Inc., Marlborough, Mass., has named Robert E.

Robert G. Brown–principal and senior vice president with TBE Group, Clearwater, Fla.—has earned a PhD in engineering management from Walden University. Dr. Brown also holds an MBA in business administration from the University of Tampa and a BS from West Point. Brown has been with the company for for 24 years, currently heading the water resources/asset management division.

Newcomb & Boyd, Atlanta, has hired Jyotsna Bhamidipati as an electrical engineer; she received a Spectra-Physics Research Excellence Travel Award and presented her research at the SPIE Conference in San Diego in mid-August. In addition, Sinan Sinharoy—currently a mechanical engineering student at the Georgia Institute of Technology–has joined the firm as co-op.
