Portsmouth, N.H.-based Anvil International obtained grooved products ISO-9001:2008 certification. Anvil is one of the first companies in the industry to achieve this designation for grooved products. Anvil International, a fitting manufacturer, is a subsidiary of Mueller Water Products Inc.

Cambridge, Mass.-based CDM has been retained by Partners HealthCare Systems to prepare a strategic energy master plan to reduce energy consumption at nine health care facilities, comprising 13.8 million sq ft of operating space. Partners is seeking to reduce its energy consumption over the next 10 years through energy reduction measures and capital improvements.

Hugh Nash, a partner with San Francisco-based engineering and consulting firm Mazzetti Nash Lipsey Burch , has been named a Fellow by the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE). Nash has 42 years of experience in healthcare engineering and has extensive project management and electrical design experience for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.

Shoffner Mechanical Services of Knoxville, Tenn., is the newest member of the Unified Group. Formed in 1998, the Unified Group is an independent association of more than 50 of the country’s HVAC commercial contractors, representing more than $1 billion in revenue. Shoffner Mechanical was formed in 1970 and serves the eastern Tennessee area.

Natick, Mass.-based Toolmex Corp. , a designer and supplier of tooling products, announced that it has earned a position on the 2009 Inc. 5000 list , ranking the corporation as one of the fastest-growing companies in America.

A group of apprentices from the United Assn. of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada won the annual international apprentice competition in Ann Arbor, Mich. The 2009 winners in each division were pipefitter Nick Unfried of Evansville, Ind.; service technician David Fruehauf of Buffalo, N.Y.; welder Peter LaRou of Chicago; plumber Jarrad Taylor of Washington, D.C.; and sprinklerfitter Josh Coale of Taylorsville, Ky.
