FEMA Fabricated Steel Grille

September 16, 2010

Greenheck’s new FEMA Model FSG-801 fabricated steel grille protects exterior wall penetrations on FEMA 361 or 320 compliant storm shelters or safe rooms. Fabricated of 0.25-in thick hot-rolled steel and designed with inverted V-style blades, Model FSG-801 allows high free area and very little airflow resistance while providing maximum protection against extremely high wind-load and wind-borne debris. Most frequently installed in front of louvers on the building’s exterior, the FEMA grille can be installed in a cantilevered position or in a flush/recessed mount configuration. Model FSG-801 has a UL Listed windstorm rated assembly, can withstand wind-loads up to 248 psf, and complies with ICC500 for large missile impact, which simulates a 15 lb. 2 x 4 traveling at 100 MPH.
