Consulting engineers, facility engineers, commissioning providers and facility managers who are involved with or looking into green-building projects should consider attending the Ecobuild America and AEC Science & Technology conference being held at the Anaheim Convention Center on May 15 to May 17.

This event will have more than 100 technical sessions across 10 tracks and an exposition of products and services covering green buildings, sustainable design, environmental planning, construction technology, and information management. More than 2,000 building professionals are expected to attend.

CSE’s new chief editor, Michael Ivanovich, will be moderating a panel discussion entitled, “The Communications Role of Integrated Engineering Design for Green Buildings,” to be presented on Wednesday, May 16.

According to Ivanovich, integrated design doesn’t happen naturally. A lot of non-standard communications happens on a project’s front end, during pre-design, and throughout the design and construction process. Stressing the communications aspect of projects, his interactive session examines the roles of mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers working in a more integrated fashion with owners, architects, commissioning providers and operators on green-building projects.
