CSE Welcomes Michael Ivanovich as its New Editor

Michael Ivanovich is a 10-year veteran chief editor in the buildings industry focusing on HVAC, green buildings and controls. He is passionate about harmonizing the built environment with the natural environment, and believes that engineers are key to the success of this process through integrated design and post-construction O&M decisions.

Michael Ivanovich is a 10-year veteran chief editor in the buildings industry focusing on HVAC, green buildings and controls. He is passionate about harmonizing the built environment with the natural environment, and believes that engineers are key to the success of this process through integrated design and post-construction O&M decisions. During those 10 years, Michael was a strong editorial leader in the engineering field and led the development of websites, an e-newsletter, national conferences and webcasts. He also is an accomplished writer and public speaker.

Prior to his career in publishing, Michael was a research scientist with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in the fields of building science, green building and information technology. Michael also served as a a researcher in the laboratory and in the field on subjects such as radon in basements and the atmospheric chemistry of stratospheric ozone depletion. His education and affinity for computers, scientific instruments, building science and environmental science have provided him with the technical foundation needed to cover this industry.

Michael has a master’s in civil engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a specialization in building energy systems engineering, and a bachelor’s in computer science and mathematics from Utica College of Syracuse University.
