Intelligent lighting panelboard
Eaton’s Pow-R-Command intelligent panelboard automatically turns lights on and off as needed, and includes on-board dimming and daylight harvesting capabilities. By reducing lighting energy use by as much as 41%, the Pow-R-Command system also can decrease cooling load requirements and HVAC use by an additional 10%. To simplify scheduling and programming changes, a high-resolution color touchscreen is located on the front panel of the device. The display provides a local means for system status data and override control. The Pow-R-Command system also includes preconfigured Web pages to allow for schedule changes and system monitoring.
Luminaires with integrated sensor control system
Metalux Encounter and SkyRidge LED luminaires with innovative luminaire-integrated sensor control system are optimized for code-compliant occupancy detection and daylight harvesting, and save installation time and money in smaller ambient spaces. The integrated sensor system offers out-of-the-box operation using default settings, but when the application demands more, the sensor system has the option to make changes using a remote control. The remote allows changes from the default settings for occupancy, target light level, preset lighting levels, and more. The sensor system is factory wired to the luminaire, switching on or off based on occupancy and dimming the light when enough daylight is available.
Lighting control system with scene-based controls
The Room Controller Lighting Control System features plug-and-play devices, receptacle controls, and multi-zone daylighting. The system has been developed to meet the unique and evolving energy codes and lighting control needs of private offices, open office spaces, classrooms, and patient rooms. In addition to allowing precise lighting controls, the system is designed to save energy and time during installation with a quick-connect cable and preconfigured components. Features such as auto on to scene, auto on to 50%, or manual on (i.e., vacancy mode) make it simple to meet the current ASHRAE 90.1-2010 code, as well as the new California Title 24.
Long-range outdoor light sensor, controller
Echelon’s Lumewave MWX-LVE-180U is a Bluetooth-enabled very long range outdoor radar-based sensor and controller specifically designed for controlling street, pathway, and area lights. The MWX can differentiate between pedestrians and vehicles in real time; it can detect approaching vehicles at greater than 400 ft and pedestrians at 100 ft and tell the difference. The sensor was designed for long-term, outdoor conditions and has a directional range of 400 ft in each direction with total coverage of 800 ft. It is not impaired by heat or bright light conditions and offers the flexibility of vertical or right-angled mounting options.
Fixture integrated sensor
The Fixture Integrated Sensor transforms any lighting fixture into a smart, connected device, without altering its aesthetic appeal. It is small enough to fit in ½-in. fixtures. The sensor’s individual microprocessor allows it to operate independently, without requiring centralized control from a management system. Light-level schedules, preferences, and behavior settings can be defined for each individual fixture, where they are stored locally within each sensor. The sensor includes a multi-phototransistor array that brings in lighting, temperature, and occupancy data from the area below.
Wireless PIR sensor
