The role of the lighting designer is closely aligned with the architect.

Lighting controls should be designed and outlined early in the process.

To be successful, know the constraints of the project: solar orientation, siting, budget, etc.

A mock-up created in advance will prove the design will work, and simplify the design process, assembly, and integration.

Sort through the mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and fire protection documents meticulously before the authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) inspection.
