The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers’ thermal comfort standard is open for a second public review.
ASHRAE Standard 55-1992R, Thermal Environmental Conditions for Human Occupancy, specifies thermal environmental factors, such as temperature, thermal radiation, humidity and air speed, with per-sonal factors—activity and clothing—to achieve the most favorable environmental conditions.
The proposed changes include new or modified definitions for draft rate, percent dissatisfied and water vapor pressure at saturated dewpoint. Public review will be held through Dec. 23.
To obtain an electronic draft version of ASHRAE 55P during the comment period, log on to ASHRAE online at www.ashrae.org/STANDARDS/pubrevdft.htm .
