AMCA International Approves New Test Standard for Flow Fans
The Air Movement and Control Assn. Intl. , Arlington Heights, Ill., announced last week that the AMCA board of directors approved a new method of test standard for induced flow fans and a new certified ratings program for the unique performance requirements of these types of fans. Induced flow fans are generally used in laboratory or other hazardous exhaust applications.
The new test method and certified ratings program provides assurances of the induced flow performance that has been requested by consultants and experts in this field of expertise.
The Certified Rating Program is described in a revision to AMCA 211-05 (Rev. Feb 2007), Certified Ratings Program — Product Rating Manual for Fan Air Performance. The standard is designated AMCA 260-07, Laboratory method of Testing Induced Flow Fans for Rating.The standard and Certified Ratings Program became effective March 1, 2007.
