Advanced Metering Infrastructure Solution Selected
Cooper Power Systems will provide two-way advanced metering capabilities using power line carrier technology.
Cooper Power Systems announced today that it has been selected by Consolidated Electric Cooperative, Inc. to deploy its power line carrier (PLC) advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) network throughout the electric cooperative’s service territory.
The project includes implementing more than 16,000 new electric meters with integrated Cooper AMI modules within a 12-month period. This aggressive deployment schedule will allow Consolidated to benefit from the breadth of information brought back and managed by the Yukon Advanced Energy Services Platform. Consolidated is looking forward to improving billing accuracy, operational efficiencies and responsiveness, and customer service and satisfaction with the implementation of Cooper Power Systems two-way AMI solution. The system will connect the cooperative to their members dispersed throughout eight central Ohio counties served by nearly 1,500 miles of distribution line.
The software has continually evolved and currently includes support for advanced metering infrastructure, demand response, capacitor bank control, volt/VAR optimization, smart sensors, feeder reconfiguration and substation automation.
