2019 40 Under 40: Nika Parsa, LEED Green Associate; 33
In Parsa’s electrical team lead position at Integral Group, it is her duty to manage the personnel of the team as well as ensure consistency in quality design from initial drawings through to construction administration. She has her hand on every project that passes through the office. With great energy and dedication, Parsa is not only the electrical team lead, but the project manager for almost all of the projects she works on. She directs the greater Integral Group design team – mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers, technology designers, lighting designers and sustainability consultants – to coordinate all aspects of the project, working with architects, other engineers, developers and general contractors. After earning her undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, she entered the consulting industry. After a few years as a consulting electrical engineer, Parsa was drawn back to school where she received her graduate degree in teaching math education from University of Southern California. After a short time as a teacher, she realized that what she was truly seeking was an avenue to not only educate and inspire but also to cultivate change. She returned to engineering and joined Integral Group. At that time, she was employee No. 6 in the company’s Los Angeles office and the third member of the electrical design team. Parsa is an active member of the Society of Women Engineers. She mentors youth in a variety of settings. With a background in education, she frequently works with her mother, who is the director of the Educational Opportunity Programs at CSU Northridge. Outside of work, spending time with her family and her dog Rocky is her first priority. Ever active, hiking is always on her (and Rocky’s) weekend to-do list. Also, while work can be demanding, Parsa always makes time to travel, which is her favorite way to spend her time.
