BS mechanical engineering, University of Massachusetts, Lowell
MBA, Columbia Southern University, Orange Beach, Ala. (in progress)

Lahti is an associate and senior mechanical engineer at WSP in Boston, where he performs and manages the design of mechanical systems to meet client needs and regularly interfaces with clients, leads conceptual designs, and prepares reports to inform design. He also has been taking on an active role in client interviews and outreach. He teaches the HVAC portion of WSP’s Architect Registration Exam course. Career progression has been accelerated and continuous for Lahti. In 10 years, he has progressed from being an intern and drafter to an associate and senior engineer. He is a qualified CrossFit Level 1 trainer and enjoys doing CrossFit a few days a week. On other days, he cycles, runs, hikes, and lifts weights. He enjoys hiking with his family and dog and regularly travels to the White Mountains for day and overnight excursions. Home renovation, designing, and building furniture are his hobbies, and he has so far reconfigured bathrooms, replaced boilers, and added new electrical circuits in his house. Most people don’t think the military is something to do for enjoyment or as a hobby, but for Lahti it is. He joined the U.S. Army Reserves in 2011. Although he has a college degree, he joined as an enlisted soldier and from there became a warrant officer. As a warrant officer and engineer, he leads survey and design, advises commanders on engineering matters, and is a recognized expert in the field. Above all, nothing is more important to Lahti than his wife and son.
