Antia is a senior associate at Stantec and leads the company’s energy and sustainability practice in California. His practice focuses on sustainable building design and operations. He manages a multidisciplinary group of engineers and technologists with a focus on high-performance, energy-efficient built environments. Antia started his career at Stantec as an analyst in 2005 and within 3 years was selected to lead the net zero energy (NZE) technical analysis effort for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Research Support Facility, which is considered the first and largest successful NZE facility in the U.S. The expertise gained on this project and his thorough understanding of energy and thermal systems allowed Antia to expand into managing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services on the next large NZE project, a 361,700-sq-ft design-build for Sacramento Municipal Utility District’s East Campus Operations Center. Since then, Antia has developed into the role of an NZE integration leader on all ongoing NZE projects and leads conversations in the state and the country on the discipline. Antia spends his free time engaged in the functions and activities of Rewire Community, a nonprofit organization that aims to build and empower a community against gender-based violence, abuse, and gender inequality. He helps by packing food for homeless and domestic violence shelters, participating in street plays for social messaging, and mobilizing resources for grassroots initiatives, globally and locally. In addition to playing golf, basketball, and swimming, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters on the sports field.
