As CDM Smith’s Energy and Infrastructure technical strategy leader, Goss actively works to identify, develop, and refine the firm’s technical strategy as it pertains to building mechanical, facilities, and energy market services (central plant systems, distributed utilities, boilers, chillers, and cogeneration). He works with staff and business colleagues to identify and pursue business opportunities, identify and attract staffing and resources, and develop project-execution plans. Goss has more than 15 years of experience specializing in the design and analysis of HVAC, piping, mechanical, and energy systems for industrial, commercial, educational, and municipal facilities. His responsibilities have not only included the management of complex projects, but also mechanical systems evaluation, concept development, design, and engineering. Additionally, he has experience with staff development, management, and oversight. He also is well-versed in business and strategy development, proposal evaluation, and overall project development. Goss serves as a CDM Smith/Rensselaer Polytechnic Campus recruiting liaison and is a mentor for CDM Smith’s Technical Specialist Development Program, where he gives newer employees guidance, encouragement, and support. Outside of work, Goss is the activity director on the board of directors for a sportsman’s club, SaraSpa Rod & Gun, and has volunteered for the March of Dimes. He enjoys spending time with his wife and 2-year-old twins and stays busy with home-remodeling and construction projects. Currently, he is in the middle of a home flooring and bathroom renovation, having previously completely remodeled/renovated his prior home.
