Kevin D. Cahill, PE, CPD, LEED AP, 39
Director of Engineering, PositivEnergy Practice, Chicago
Worcester Polytechnic Institute, BS Mechanical Engineering
Cahill brings extensive experience in government projects and international ventures in mixed-used developments and super tall towers to his current work at PositivEnergy Practice (PEP), where he focuses on high-performance building systems and conserving building energy resources. He has completed the design of plumbing and fire protection systems for a variety of project types, including offices, laboratories, industrial buildings, and healthcare facilities. Since childhood, Cahill has been organizing his peers into teams that together build great things. In kindergarten, he led a class-wide venture to build the largest tower using all of the LEGOs and building blocks in the classroom. This propensity for building and team leading has served him well as an engineer. At PEP, Cahill is responsible for the design, coordination, and construction of all MEP systems as well as overseeing and managing the engineering design team. He has helped to grow the company from three employees to more than 20 employees in 10 months, and he looks forward to expanding the practice to the Washington, D.C., area. Cahill enjoys traveling, meeting new people, and exploring new territory. Cahill has been married for more than 13 years, and since he and his wife purchased their first home, he has completed several home improvement projects. Cahill enjoys spending weekends coaching and playing with his two children on the soccer pitch, baseball diamond, lacrosse field, and swimming pool decks.
