Mass notification system

Cooper Notification’s Safepath Mass Notification System (MNS) integrates with a facility’s addressable fire alarm system (FAS) for a complete in-building MNS that performs both fire alarm and emergency communications functions. The system provides personnel and building occupants with intelligible live and pre-recorded voice messages that communicate what to do in response to an emergency. The system manages all audio and visual notification devices in the emergency communications system and features a modular and flexible design to meet the functional requirements of an emergency response plan as well as the complexities of the latest fire codes.

Custom indoor/outdoor cover

The Universal Stopper (STI-13000 series) from Safety Technology International, Inc. is a cover that protects against physical damage (accidental and intentional), dust, grime, and severe indoor and outdoor environments. This clear protective cover mounts directly to the wall over an existing device and is available in flush mount, surface mount, or waterproof backbox in several color and custom label options. An optional self-contained alarm sounds when the cover is lifted. The polycarbonate cover protects devices such as dual-action pull stations, keypads for entry systems, intercom stations, emergency buttons, electrical light switches, and duplex plugs without restricting legitimate operation.

Remote service technology

SimplexGrinnell’s TrueInsight Remote Service is an Internet-based diagnostic capability that provides a real-time, actionable view of the operating status of fire alarm systems and enables the company to remotely diagnose system issues for full-service agreement customers with Simplex 4100U fire alarm panels. Once the issue is identified and isolated, often before a customer is aware of the problem, a service technician is sent to the site and can be prepared to fix the error on the first visit. This speeds resolution time and can better prepare technicians to fix a problem or avoid trips to a customer site altogether.

Early warning fire detector

System Sensor’s very early warning fire detector, the FAAST Fire Alarm Aspiration Sensing Technology, protects mission-critical facilities and high-value assets from the faintest traces of smoke. The product draws air samples into its sensor through a pipe network and uses a sensitive blue LED for detection up to 60 min before combustion. An infrared laser identifies nuisances like dust that can cause false alarms and downtime. The detector interprets signals from both sources to provide early and accurate warning of the widest range of fires available. The product includes an onboard Ethernet port and e-mail status notifications.
