The Alliance to Save Energy has announced that the 2008 Star of Energy Efficiency Award Nominations are now available online.
The Alliance to Save Energy has announced that the 2008 Star of Energy Efficiency Award Nominations are now available online. These prestigious awards honor those entities who have demonstrated a significant and tangible commitment to the cause of energy efficiency. Companies, organizations, and individuals are invited to enter the competition and nominate others.
The deadline is March 28, 2008, with early bird entries due Feb. 15. The following categories are open for nomination submissions:
Charles Percy Award for Public Service – Presented to an individual in recognition of an outstanding public service contribution and/or a lifetime commitment to energy efficiency.
Star of Energy Efficiency Awards – Recognize organizations/companies, learning institutions, state offices, and government programs for their efforts to promote energy efficiency domestically and/or overseas.
“Galaxy” Star of Energy Efficiency – Nominees with more than $150 million in annual revenue are eligible in this category.
“Super Nova” Star of Energy Efficiency – Nominees with less than $150 million in annual revenue are eligible in this category.
“Andromeda” Star of Energy Efficiency – Nominees with less than $10 million in annual revenue are eligible in this category.
“I-Star” Award for Energy Efficiency – Recognizes the outstanding contributions to energy efficiency achieved through special projects or activities overseas led by nominees based outside of the U.S. territories.
“Innovative” Star of Energy Efficiency – New this year, the “Innovative” Star award recognizes an emerging technology or service that has the potential to transform a sector of the energy efficiency market but which, given the early stage of the innovation, has yet to generate proven savings.
