2013 Lighting Study
2013 Lighting & Lighting Controls Study
This 2013 study was conducted by Consulting-Specifying Engineer in July to evaluate customer awareness, usage of, and preference for suppliers of various types of lights, lighting equipment, and lighting controls. Survey questions qualified respondents to ensure they had appropriate involvement in the specification, design, and selection of lighting products and systems.
These respondents are very involved in the specification of lighting systems. Eighty percent determine requirements/write specs, 74% research and evaluate options, and 69% make brand recommendations.
These lighting and lighting controls systems are specified into office buildings (77%), industrial/manufacturing facilities (64%), educational facilities (56%), government/military buildings (50%), and hospitals/health care facilities (45%). (Participants could respond with more than one building type, so answers do not equal 100%.)
