2013 Fire, Life Safety Study

2013 Fire & Life Safety Study

This 2013 study was conducted by Consulting-Specifying Engineer in January and February to evaluate customer awareness, usage of, and preference for suppliers of various types of fire and life safety products and systems. Survey questions qualified respondents to ensure they had appropriate involvement in the specification, design and selection of fire and life safety products and systems.

These respondents are very involved in the specification of fire and life safety systems. Seventy-seven percent determine requirements/write specs, 62% research and evaluate options, and 57% supervise or consult on projects.

These projects consist of office buildings (70%), industrial/manufacturing facilities (62%), educational facilities (55%), government/military buildings (54%), and hospitals/health care facilities (48%). (Participants could respond with more than one building type, so answers do not equal 100%.)
