2013 Electrical and Power Study
2013 Electrical & Power Study
This 2013 study was conducted by Consulting-Specifying Engineer in April and May to evaluate customer awareness, usage of, and preference for suppliers of various types of electrical and power products and systems. Respondents indicated that they’d been involved for several years in specifying electrical and power systems; 66% said they’d spent 20 years or more in the industry
These seasoned vets are very involved in the specification of electrical and power systems. Seventy-seven percent determine requirements/write specs, 66% recommend brands, and 62% supervise or consult on projects.
These projects consist of office buildings (60%), industrial/manufacturing facilities (56%), educational facilities (43%), and an equal amount of hospitals/health care facilities and government/military buildings (each at 42%). (Participants could respond with more than one building type, so answers do not equal 100%.)
