2012 HVAC Study

2012 HVAC Study

This 2012 study was conducted by Consulting-Specifying Engineer in November and December to evaluate customer awareness, usage of, and preference for suppliers of various types of HVAC and building automation/control products. Survey questions qualified respondents to ensure they had appropriate involvement in the specification, design and selection of HVAC products and systems.

These respondents are very involved in the specification of HVAC systems. Sixty-five percent determine requirements/write specs, 61% research and evaluate options, and 59% supervise or consult on projects.

These projects consist of office buildings (56%), industrial/manufacturing facilities (54%), educational facilities (41%), hospitals/health care facilities (40%) and government/military buildings (38%). (Participants could respond with more than one building type, so answers do not equal 100%.)
