M&A Transactions


Transportation, land use, and environmental firm, VHB (Watertown, MA) (ENR #72) acquired GT Hill Planners (Tucker, GA), an environmental and transportation planning firm serving public agencies, private clients, and municipalities. Link to details


Architecture, interiors and planning firm, LS3P (Charleston, SC) (ENR #224) and Hubbard Architecture (Myrtle Beach, SC) announced that they will merge as of January 1, 2016. Hubbard Architecture specializes in architectural design and planning for hospitality, attraction, residential, and retail projects. Link to details


Dirk Lohan and his 10-person firm, Lohan Anderson (Chicago, IL) will close and join Wight & Company (Darien, IL) (ENR #461). Lohan will lead a new section of the firm called the Lohan Studio and will bring a global reputation as well as experience in commercial, hotel, government, and institutional buildings. Matrix New World Engineering (Florham Park, NJ) acquired Southwest Ground-water Consultants (Phoenix, AZ), a hydrogeological and environmental consulting firm that serves the industrial and public sectors. Multi-disciplined surveying and engineering, Westwood Professional Services (Eden Prairie, MN) acquired Pogue Engineering and Development Company (McKinney, TX), a provider of full-service civil engineering and land surveying services to support commercial and infrastructure development. Land planning and architecture firm, LA Group (Saratoga Springs, NY) acquired HMH Site & Sports Design (Ithaca, NY), a company that designs athletic fields and tracks for colleges and New York public schools. Link to details


Engineering and land surveying firms, Monteith & Sutherland (Sarnia, Canada) and James D. Nisbet Land Surveyors (Sarnia, Canada) have merged. The two firms that have run parallel in the market for many years will have a combined 50 employees. Link to details
