| Michael F. Cornicelli is Director of Government Affairs for the Building Owners and Managers Association of Chicago. He has over 27 years of experience in commercial real estate as a corporate lawyer, a management consultant and a trade association executive. In his current position, he is responsible for the formulation and implementation of BOMA/Chicago’s regulatory and legislative agendas on city, county, state and federal levels. He has 22 years experience in the fire protection industry and specializes in building and fire code analysis, systems design, risk assessments and life safety analysis. | Warde Comeaux , Global Fire Protection Consulting, Inc. and principal with the Fire Protection International Consortium, Inc., has 35 years experience in the fire protection and life safety consulting field. He is a member of NFPA, International Conference of Building Officials, International Fire Code, Society of Fire Protection Engineers and Uniform Fire Code Association. | |
| Jeffrey Harper, P.E. , is the vice president and engineering manager for the Chicago office of Rolf Jensen & Associates, Inc. He has evaluated code compliance, developed alternative approaches and negotiated those approaches with local building and fire departments for major hospitals, high-rises, federal courthouse/office buildings, covered mall buildings, retail occupancies and large mixed-use projects. He has also developed criteria for and conducted smoke control system acceptance testing with local fire departments for a large detention facility and several retail occupancies. | |
| Fabio Grego, AIA , is the Manager of Regulatory Review with the City of Chicago’s Dept. of Construction and Permits. This is his first year on the civic side, and he brings more than 20 years experience as a practicing architect in Chicago, serving as project architect at firms such as Bertrand Golberg Assocs. and Holabird and Root. Before joining the City of Chicago, Mr. Grego served as a project manager for eight years at VOA Architects, Inc., becoming a senior vice president. Mr. Grego is presently involved in the effort to redraft Chicago’s fire and life safety codes in the wake of last fall’s tragic fire in the Cook County Administration Building. Mr. Grego is also involved in drafting new ordinances to increase the safety in the high-rise buildings in Chicago. |
