Courtesy: Cerus IndustrialCerus Industrial enhanced its P-Series line of variable frequency drives (VFDs) for HVAC use with control options and safety features, and an application-based commissioning tool called FastApp, designed to save time when setting up a wide range of HVAC applications. With FastApp, HVAC motor control parameters are now easier to set up via the keypad on the drive enclosure, and include a multitude of display and control options. With this wider array of options, users around the world with different HVAC applications can set up their control systems. The enhanced VFDs also have safety features to protect motors from damage due to conditions such as belt loss. If the under level detection feature is selected and the motor runs at a speed above a set amount for longer than a set amount of time and with the load current at less than a set level, the VFD will trip.
