Survey: Parents worried over school security
Parents concerned about sexual predators and abductors on campuses.
According to a recent survey , nearly half of all parents of children in grades kindergarten through eighth express concern over security at their kids’ schools.
The ADT National Back-to-School Security Survey —sponsored by the Boca Raton, Fla.-based security services firm and conducted by Zogby—polled 1,948 parents. Among the findings:
* Nearly 50% of respondents fretted over the possibility of their children falling prey to predators while at school
* More than a third believed their child could be taken by a stranger
* Nearly 60% of parents stated they would be “very” or “somewhat” willing to pay for increased security at their child’s school.
