Motors, Drives, Motion Control

SilverDust IG8 single-axis controller/driver is said to provide low-cost network support. Multi-channel architecture allows a network of field devices using CAN to work simultaneously with a supervisory network using RS-232, RS-485, or Ethernet. Part of the Silver-Lode controller family, the IG8 includes breakouts for power, communications, and I/O connections. Closed loop control (servo) of a step motor is said to provide the accuracy of a transitional servomotor at lower cost and with superior torque for applications to 2,000 rpm, depending on model. Product uses a single cable for motor and encoder signals.
