National AEC firm chooses new chief operating officer from within its ranks.

Tampa, Fla.-based architecture, engineering, and consulting firm PBS&J has chosen Wayne J. Overman as its new chief operating officer. Overman first joined the company through its 1997 acquisition of Espey, Huston & Assos. Inc. After that, he led the company’s aviation operations through a growth period. Overman’s appointment comes at the same time as a number of other appointments and promotions. Michael M. Newton has joined the company as director of human resources; Jeanne A. Yacoub has signed on as director of PBS&J’s Project/Program Management Office, a newly created position; and John M. Finochiaro has joined PBS&J as chief technology officer.
