NY Engineering Assn. Promotes Profession to Students Via New Brochure

By Consulting Specifying Engineer Staff January 13, 2006

Is the U.S. graduating enough engineers annually to stay competitive from a technological standpoint? The American Council of Engineering Companies of New York doesn’t think so, which is why it has produced a four-color, six-panel brochure titled “Engineering as a Career” that is available free to companies interested in promoting engineering careers to middle- and high-school students.

“No one can deny that technology is what has put this country in the preeminent position it is in today, but in order to maintain our standard of living and meet the competition of emerging nations, we must do all that we can to encourage our youth to enter the engineering field,” said Jay Simson, executive director of ACEC New York.
