N.Y. City's 111 ways to green its commercial building codes
Report from NYC Green Codes Task Force, which is led by Urban Green Council, outlines energy saving measures for commercial buildings

The NYC Green Codes Task Force released a report containing 111 recommendations to improve NY City building codes, as well as codes for zoning, health, consumer affairs, and environmental protection.
According to Urban Green Council, the task force was convened by Mayor Bloomberg and Council Speaker Quinn in July, 2008. Led by Urban Green Council, the task force "was charged with recommending green changes to the laws and regulations affecting buildings in New York, bringing them to the next level. The 111 recommendations largely impact new construction and renovations."
Some measures include removing impediments to green practices, such as zoning restrictions for many of them removing current impediments to green practices, such as modernizing boiler regulations and eliminating zoning restrictions for renewable energy.
