New Products for HVAC and Controls

HVAC design Web site provides a resource on load calculations and design for HVAC professionals. Users will be able to choose the right program for their business. Users visiting the site will be able to watch videos demonstrating HVAC modules, as well as access to access to download free demo versions and service pack updates. For more information, click here .
Coatings inhibit the growth of odor and stain-causing bacteria, molds, mildews, and fungi, with a selection of powder, liquid, and coil-coating options that are designed to be integrated onto any metal product. For more information about antimicrobial coatings from Sureshield, click here .
Online database provides engineers with equipment service life and annual maintenance costs for a variety of building types and HVAC systems. The database contains more than 300 building types and more than 38,000 pieces of equipment with service life data, and allows users to access up-to-date information to determine a range of statistical values for equipment owning and operating costs. To access the free database from ASHRAE, click here .

Indirect evaporative cooling system
uses a corrosion-resistant polymer heat exchanger to produce dry, cool air without refrigeration. The heat exchanger core incorporates vertical polymer tubes. Suited for hot, dry climates, the unit provides treating makeup air for 50% less energy, providing a cool, dry environment, cooling energy recovery, and winter heat recovery. Iris damper permits airflow to be adjusted and measured at one location, resulting in reduced field time and improved accuracy in air balancing. The device uses interlocking steel plates and a calibrated control lever to form an adjustable aperture. By measuring differential pressure across the pressure ports, and referring to the matching performance curve, airflow can be precisely determined. Ten sizes are available, from 4 to 32 in., with capacities to 20,000 cfm. For more about iris dampers from Continental Fan, click here .
