Firestop association website has been enhanced to feature online training modules and comprehensive industry information such as updates on codes and inspection and installation guidelines. It is also a central resource for firestopping history, information on education and training opportunities, and publications and videos. Click here .

Special hazards awareness presentation addresses the latest options in clean agent fire protection for special hazard applications. All of the options are included on the EPA SNAP list and are available in UL Listed, FM approved engineered systems. For more about SHAPE from FSSA, click here .

Fire pump bulletin illustrates 1250/1500-gpm vertical in-line fire pump and describes how the compact, self-contained design of the pump allows for more flexibility and space-saving efficiency by requiring 30% percent less space. The bulletin also highlights the pump's installation, sizes and design elements. For more about Series 1580 from A-C Fire Pumps, click here .

Computer-based design tool assists the design and installation of fire alarm, voice evacuation and facility communications systems. The program precisely calculates the number of appliances per circuit as well as the total length and wire gauge, percentage of voltage drop and speaker wattage. It also provides the capacity to print out material inventories. Another computer-based design tool facilitates the calculation of “performance based” strobe coverages per NFPA National Fire Alarm Code 2002, Chapter 7.Previously, designers had to refer to fixed tables found in the NFPA code to determine these complex calculations.
