Variable frequency drive series now includes 600-volt rating, opening up use to a number of new applications. The product line features a control panel with the look, feel and functionality of a mobile phone and features two soft keys, the functions of which change according to the operating state of the panel. A built-in help button and a real-time clock assist in drive setup and fault diagnostics. For more about ACH550 drives from ABB, click here .

Time/voltage capacitor bank control automatically controls power capacitors in an electric utility distribution system. A GPS receiver obtains accurate time and date information and eliminates the need for a battery backup system to keep time during AC power interruptions, as the signal is acquired upon each power-up. Automatic transformer turns ratio set for single- and three-phase transformer testing is able to accurately measure a turns ratio of 20,000:1 in less than five seconds and can locate a range of problems, including those in transformer windings and magnetic core circuits. In addition to measuring small ratio changes, the unit measures excitation current and normal and reverse polarity of single-phase transformers. For more about the TTR25 from Megger, click here .

Port outlet box provides multimedia flexibility for open office environments that experience continuous reconfigurations. The modular design with an expandable cable entry adjusts to fit different cables and a range of bundle sizes, and is quick and easy to install, covering multiple media types and applications. The box can be used in conjunction with pre-assembled cable runs that have been previously identified and tested allowing for a faster, more economical and reliable installation.
