NECA Adding to Installation Standards

The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) is working on two new standards to add to its collection of equipment-installation standards intended to aid contractors in the field. NECA is working with the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) to develop NECA/NEMA 605, "Nonmetallic Underground Utility Duct.

The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) is working on two new standards to add to its collection of equipment-installation standards intended to aid contractors in the field.

NECA is working with the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) to develop NECA/NEMA 605, ” Nonmetallic Underground Utility Duct .” The standard is expected to be published in spring 2005.

The group is also working with several major fuse makers to write a new standard providing application guidelines and safe work practices for the use of fuses in construction and maintenance projects. Cooper / Bussman , Ferraz Shawmut and Littelfuse are collaborating with NECA on the project. A publication date has not been announced.
