Courtesy: EatonEaton's FlashGard motor control center is an arc-resistant version and is designed to prevent an arc flash event and protect personnel in retrofit industrial applications if an arc flash occurs. The solution provides prevention, insulation, and isolation supporting safety during routine maintenance operations in oil and gas, water and wastewater, mining, and other industrial applications. FlashGard design enables units to be disconnected and reconnected to the vertical bus with the unit door closed maintaining a dead-front barrier during maintenance operations. The solution also incorporates RotoTrack racking mechanism that provides bus isolation, stab indication, and lockout features to prevent the initiation of an arc flash event.
