SEL microgrid control solutions allow seamless integration of distributed energy resources (DERs) to maintain uninterrupted power to critical loads with the use of a microgrid controller that responds to external data. The microgrid controller responds to external data, such as real-time pricing signals and fast-changing system dynamics. This controller can operate in half a cycle, allowing it to balance load with available generation. The microgrids combine computing and communications to provide control for tasks such as adaptive relaying, synchrophasors, and cyber security. The microgrid controller is also interoperable with system components and drivers, and can provide front-end engineering and design (FEED) for microgrid preproject planning.
