New hires, promotions, and information at MEP firms.

Nashville-based Smith Seckman Reid —a consulting firm specializing in facility and infrastructure design, operation, and management—recently secured 19 projects, sited in seven states. The projects include:
* Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, Nashville: mechanical, electrical, and plumbing/fire protection and commissioning services
* Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg, Va.: mechanical, electrical, and plumbing/fire protection, and LEED facilitation services
* Smyrna Water Treatment Plant Expansion, Smyrna, Tenn.: structural, electrical, instrumentation controls, and civil and environmental services

Norwalk, Conn.-based Emcor Group Inc. announced that its Mechanical Services of Central Florida Inc. subsidiary has received a mechanical services contract for Winter Park Memorial Hospital in Winter Park, Fla. The subsidiary will handle mechanical system upgrades related to increasing the capacity of the cooling and heating central energy plant, to ensure adequate redundancy at the 297-bed acute care facility. The project also includes the installation of new heating boiler units, as well as updating the existing chillers that will improve efficiency and increase capacity at the facility.

Merrick & Co .—an engineering, architecture, surveying, and geospatial firm—has opened a new office in San Antonio. In its new facility, the company will continue to service existing clients while expanding the office through new projects in the region, nationally, and internationally.
