New hires, promotions, and information at MEP firms.

New York City-based engineering services firm Thornton Tomasetti has announced a number of promotions. Erleen Hatfield, PE, LEED AP; Ling-En Hsiao, PhD; Gary Mancini, PE, LEED AP; and Michael Squarzini, PE, have been promoted to senior vice president/principal. Hi Sun Choi, PE, and Jeffrey Schreier have been promoted to principals. Jan Kalas, AIA, was promoted to senior vice president. Eli Gottlieb, PE, and Libero Petrella, PE, were both promoted to vice president.

Boston-based WB Engineers | Consultants has appointed Paul Schleppy to the position of business solutions manager. Schleppy has more than 20 years of experience in the technology field, including application development, help desk management, networking, and infrastructure design and project management.

Michael Chandler has joined Raleigh, N.C.-based Southern Industrial Constructors and Southern Crane, full-service industrial contractors, as project manager for mechanical piping. Chandler will oversee estimates, job costs, scheduling, personnel, materials flow, and client support for the companies’ Columbia, S.C., operation.

Dr. Neven Kresic, PG, PH, CGWP, has been named senior principal hydrogeologist at MACTEC Engineering and Consulting Inc., Atlanta. Kresic has more than 25 years of consulting, research, and teaching experience in projects and issues related to groundwater and surface water.

Nashville-based Smith Seckman Reid Inc., an engineering design and facility consulting firm, has hired Adrian Zapata and Scott Savage as team members in the firm’s Houston office and Wayne Williams, EI, as a team member in the firm’s Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., office.

June Wispelwey, former executive director of the Society for Biological Engineering (SBE), has been named executive of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), SBE’s parent organization. As AIChE leader, Wispelwey will oversee the staff of the world’s largest organization focused on chemical engineering

San Luis Obispo, Calif.-based consultants Wallace Group has appointed Brad Brechwald, PE, PLS, to CEO, and Tom Zehnder, PE, to COO. The transition will become effective Jan. 1, 2009.

Northford, Conn.-based Gamewell-FCI has announced Michael Zittle as its new North Atlantic regional sales manager, serving the Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, and upstate New York area. While supporting Gamewell-FCI distributors’ fire/life safety projects, Zittle will host “Lunch-n-Learn” meetings with local architects and engineers.
