JJR's Board of Directors names new associates: Michael Duhr , landscape architect in the Madison, Wis., studio; Jessie Fink , landscape architect in the Madison studio; Elizabeth Wittkopf Iszler , landscape architect in the Ann Arbor, Mich., studio, David Lantz , senior marketing coordinator in the Madison studio; Carol Schulte , environmentalist in the Ann Arbor studio; Jason Strangland , landscape architect in the Madison studio ; Dan Veriotti , civil engineer in the Chicago studio; and Bill Wood , civil engineer in the Chicago studio.

KJWW Engineering Consultants, Rock Island, Ill., announces that Phil Richards, P.E., has achieved the status of LEED AP. Richards joined KJWW in 2002 as mechanical engineer.

Daniel T. Schultz and Lynda B. Herrig join Newcomb & Boyd, Atlanta, as mechanical engineers. Treston Vines, Mark Azarraga, Kai Chi Wong and Nathan Firesheets have joined the firm as co-ops. Vines and Azzaraga are undergraduates studying mechanical engineering at Southern Polytechnic State University. Wong is working toward a Master’s of Science degree at Souther Polytechnic State University and Firesheets is an undergraduate studying electrical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Greenman-Pedersen , Rockville, Md., adds Patrick Euler as an electrical designer. Euler has 15 years of experience. Son Hong joined the firm as an electrical engineer. Hong has eight years of experience providing surveys and design for commercial projects, including computer room and data center installations.

Michael Karst joins Vanderweil Engineers , Alexandria, Va., as chief of construction and commissioning. Karst has nearly 25 years of experience in engineering and construction, and most recently served as a program manager in the federal programs division of Dewberry, where he supported a nationwide contract with the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency to provide temporary housing to victims of President-declared disasters.

Integrated Project Services, Lafayette Hill, Pa, promotes Patrick Bucklen, P.E., CIPE, to senior director of international projects. With several projects underway in China, India and Ireland, Bucklen will expand IPS’ global development activities. He will continue in his present role as principal, where he has served the development and maintenance of design, construction and compliance projects for new and existing clients in New Jersey. IPS also announces that Andrew A. Signore, P.E. , is one of the first professionals to be awarded the Certified Pharmaceutical Industry Professional (CPIP) credential by the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering Professional Certification Commission. CPIP is the first competency-based international certification for pharmaceutical professionals

Stanley Consultants Inc., Muscatine, Iowa, elects Gayle A. Roberts, P.E., to president and chief operating officer, effective Sept. 18. Roberts has served the company for 25 years, most recently as senior vice president and business leader of the firm’s education, healthcare and industry business unit. Gregs Thomopulos , current president and chief executive officer, moves to chairman and CEO of the firm. Dick Stanley , current chairman, was elected chairman emeritus and continues to be a director of the company.
Cannon Design , Buffalo, N.Y, names Edward J. Muck, RA, LEED AP, James R Bones, P.E., LEED AP and Judy Pullar vice presidents of the company. Muck joined Cannon Design in 1998, and is a member of the firm’s healthcare planning and design practice. Bones has more than 16 years of experience and is responsible for the firm’s electrical engineering practice in the firm’s Boston office. Pullar joined Cannon Design in 2003, and has more than 20 years of experience in the industry. She is responsible for business development efforts within the New York region.

 

At the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) conference held Aug. 22 to Aug 25 in Philadelphia, delegates from licensing boards across the country elected Henn Rebane, P.E., president-elect of NCEES from 2007-08 and president the following year. A resident of Tampa, Fla, Rebane is a fellow and past president of the Florida Engineering Society, a past president of the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers and past director of the National Society of Professional Engineers-Florida.
