EMCOR Group , Norwalk, Conn., achieved its 50th consecutive profitable quarter for the period ended Dec. 31, 2007. EMCOR's profitability has rose from $1.59 billion in 1995 to $5.92 billion in 2007.

Lori Jore earned her Professional Engineering license in mechanical engineering in the state of Wisconsin. Jore is an energy engineer at Michaels Engineering , La Crosse, Wis.

WB Engineers Consultants , New York City, named Edward Moore, PE , senior associate in charge of the firm's building commissioning services. Moore has more than 20 years of hands-on operations experience.

DeVita & Assocs., Greenville, S.C., acquired Quality Design Consultants , Richmond, Va.

Gould Evans , Lawrence, Kan., announced that its San Francisco office merged with Baum Thornley Architects LLP , San Francisco.

HLB , New York City, welcomed its newest principal, Hayden McKay, LEED AP, AIA , who will oversee the firm's expanded Daylight & Sustainable Design Studio. McKay has more than 30 years of lighting design experience. The firm also announced several promotions. Tina Aghassian, LC , has been promoted to associate principal in HLB's Los Angeles office. Aghassian joined the firm in 1997. Lee Brandt, LEED AP, LC , has been promoted to associate principal in the New York office. Brandt joined the firm in 2000. Carrie Knowlton Hawley also has been promoted to associate principal, in the newly opened Boston office. She re-joined HLB in 2001 and helped the firm launch eLumit.com. Justin Horvath and Shoshana Segal, LC , have been promoted to associates at the firm. Horvath joined the firm's Los Angeles office in 2003, and Segal serves the firm at its New York office. She joined in 2003 and has more than 13 years of experience.

SmithGroup , Detroit, hired Darryl James as business development manager to lead project pursuits and client development for its Learning and Office Workplace. The firm also hired Michael Weingartz, PE , to lead its electrical engineering staff as electrical engineering discipline director. James has more than 6 years of experience in business development roles in the construction industry. Weingartz joins SmithGroup after 6 years of serving Peter Basso Assocs.

Nathaniel Stalker, PE, LEED AP , and Nick DiGesu, RCDD , have been promoted to senior associates at DiClemente Siegel Design , Southfield, Mich. Stalker joined the firm in 1998 and specializes in HVAC, air, and hydronic systems and building controls. DiGesu joined the firm in 1995 and has more than 15 years of experience in electrical design, technology design, and project management. DiClemente Siegel Design also announced that two staff members are now LEED Accredited Professionals: John Ritchie, AIA , and Bart Reed, PE , successfully passed the LEED AP exam. Jackie Anderer also joined the firm as business development director. She began her marketing career in the A/E field more than 15 years ago.

The combined company of ABF Consulting Engineers, Connor Engineering Solutions, D& L Engineering, Earl Walls Assocs., Gallegos Lighting Design, GRG Inc., JDA Consulting Engineers, and TKG Consulting Engineers changed its name to X-nth .

Tony Whaley, RCDD, CWP , has been promoted to vice president at RTKL Assocs ., Baltimore. Whaley is a senior telecommunications consultant with the Special Systems Design Group in RTKL's Baltimore office.

Stellar , Jacksonville, Fla., completed a LEEP accreditation program for more than 50 of its employees. The University of Florida's Center for Training, Research, and Education administered the two-day program, which prepared a group of Stellar engineers, vice presidents, architects, and project managers to take the LEED AP exam.
