Jackie Bieghler , AIA, joined BSA LifeStructures’ Indianapolis office as a project architect. Ten employees also have been promoted to shareholders: Brian Hoagland, PE , electrical engineer in the Indianapolis office, promoted from senior associate to shareholder; Mark Bartone, PE , mechanical engineer in the Indianapolis office, promoted from senior associate to shareholder; Beverly Eakins , senior contract administrator for the construction department in the Indianapolis office, promoted from senior associate to shareholder; Lynette Hart, PE , contract manager in the Indianapolis office, promoted from senior associate to shareholder; Andrew Lough, RA , architect in the Indianapolis office, promoted from senior associate to shareholder; Jay McQueen, director of contracts and counsel, promoted from associate to shareholder; Todd Reust, PE, LEED AP , mechanical engineer in the Chicago office, promoted from senior associate to shareholder; Derek Selke, RA , architect in the Indianapolis office, promoted from senior associate to shareholder; Matt Steiner, PE , mechanical engineer in the Indianapolis office, promoted from senior associate to shareholder; and Stephanie Thomas, PE , mechanical engineer in the Indianapolis office, has been promoted from senior associate to shareholder.

MACTEC Engineering & Consulting , Alpharetta, Ga., appointed Deborah Barsotti Ph.D., DABT , as Mid-Atlantic regional vice president. Barsotti will be based in the firm’s Hamilton, N.J., office. She joined the firm in 1996 and most recently served as Mid-Atlantic regional operations manager. Michael S. Beyers joined its Family Lifecycle Group as senior data analyst, and that Kenneth Desenberg joined the same group as project manager.

Hubbell, Roth & Clark , Bloomfield Hills, Mich., announced that Dennis Benoit, PE , has been promoted to associate. Benoit has more than 30 years of professional experience in water, wastewater, stormwater, flood control, and transportation projects.

Lane Colburn & Assocs . (LCA), Seattle, promoted Nick Alexander, LEED AP , to an associate in its Woodinville, Wash., office. Alexander serves as a senior electrical designer for the firm. LCA hired Theresa Lane as office manager and retained Don Pontsler, PE , as a part-time consulting engineer. Pontsler has more than 30 years of experience with Tacoma Power and Light and Puget Sound Energy.

Stantec , Edmonton, Alberta, acquired RHL Design Group , Petaluma, Calif. Founded in 1966, RHL has worked on more than 18,000 projects and has more than 170 employees.

The board of directors of Thorton Tomasetti , New York, announced its leadership succession. Managing principal Thomas Scaragello has been named chairman, Daniel Cuoco , who has been president since 2002, has been named president and CEO, and Robert DeScenza has been named COO from his position of executive vice president. Richard Tomasetti , past chairman and chief executive officer, will remain active with the firm as founding principal and chairman of its newly formed charity Thorton Tomasetti Foundation.

EMCOR Group , Norwalk, Conn., announced that its Tucker Mechanical subsidiary completed a mechanical services project for the Yale School of Medicine’s Amistad Street building in New Haven, Conn. Tucker Mechanical provided all HVAC and plumbing for the 70,000 sq. ft building.

Michaels Engineering opened an office in Green Bay, Wis. The firm now has Wisconsin offices in La Crosse, Milwaukee, and Green Bay; and in St, Paul, Minn.

Gregory W. Massey, PE , joined sys-tek , Blue Springs, Mo., as director of engineering. Massey brings 18 years of experience with him to the firm.
