James Lee Witt Assocs. hire new personnel; S.A. Comunale and Arora Engineers open new offices.
GlobalOptions Group Inc ., New York, announced that William Lokey and Alan Pentz have joined James Lee Witt Assoc., a public safety and crisis management unit of GlobalOptions. Lokey will serve as program director in the firm’s Western States Regional Office in Sacramento, Calif. Lokey brings more than 38 years of experience in emergency management and search and rescue to the firm. Pentz will be based in the company’s Washington, D.C., office, and will serve the firm as director of Federal Programs. Prior to joining ClobalOptions, Pentz spent six years on Capitol Hill.
S.A. Comunale , Akron, Ohio, has opened an office in Washington, D.C. Comunale is a wholly owned subsidiary of EMCOR Group Inc ., and has offices in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Michigan and West Virgina. The new Washington, D.C., office will be under the direction of Mike Hughes , who has been named branch manager. Hughes previously served as a sales and project manager at Comunale’s Philadelphia office.
Arora Engineers has opened a corporate office in Chadds Ford, Pa. The building is more than 15,000 sq. ft. and is equipped with an energy efficient Next Light Control System.
IPS , Lafayette Hill, Pa., named Eugene K. Martini, P.E ., senior director for Project Delivery Operations. Martini brings more than 25 years of experience in the management of capital projects for technically complex facilities. The firm also appointed David J. Brown director of Project Services. In addition, the company opened two offices in India, with locations in Hyderabad and New Delhi.
Mark E. Filanc, P.E., DBIA , was appointed president and chief operating officer of J .R. Filanc Construction Company Co ., Escondido, Calif. Filanc joined the company in 1981. In his most recent post, he oversaw the coordination of personnel, equipment and resources for all of the firm’s projects.
Bob Mayeron , chief financial officer for KKE, has been named president of the Board of the Design Professionals Risk Control Group (DPRCG). Mayeron has served on the DPRCG Board of Directors since 2000, and chaired the 2004-05 Planning Committee for the DPRCG Loss Prevention Convocation.
William Hutzel, P.E., associate professor at Purdue University, has been selected for ASHRAE’s first Washington , D.C. , federal fellowship . The one-year fellowship allows participants to work in the federal government in a technical advisory role. This year’s Fellow will be placed on Capitol Hill, most likely in the Science Committee staff office. At Purdue, Hutzel teaches undergraduate courses in thermodynamics, controls, fluid mechanics and HVAC. He has developed a modern laboratory to teaching graduate-level facilities engineering courses and conducting applied research. Recent projects have designed an air flow testing laboratory for heat recovery equipment, used web-enabled building controls for remotely accessible laboratory experiments, and evaluated the performance of evacuated tube heat pipe solar collectors. He also serves as co-faculty advisor for the ASHRAE Purdue Student Branch.
