The additions and renovations occurred in many locations in a functioning hospital; a high priority was placed on minimizing construction impacts in areas still in use. The design accounted for multiple phases of construction in multiple areas of the hospital over multiple years.

Solutions

M/E Engineering successfully completed the renovation and expansion of Unity Hospital at the Park Ridge Campus, which occurred in many locations and accounted for phases of construction in multiple areas of the hospital over multiple years. The combined renovation and expansion area equates to approximately 320,000 sq ft. Renovation and expansion areas include a new café, a new kitchen, revisions to the main concourse and entrance, four hospital patient wings (including an additional floor of patient rooms), two extended-care patient wings, intermediate care unit (ICMU) patient rooms, cardiology and nuclear medicine, pharmacy, gastroenterology, rehabilitation, sterile support, and dialysis and upgrades to the main utility piping-distribution systems.
