Mary Ramsey has been named Senior Vice President of Schneider Electric’s U.S. Industry Business, one of the five core U.S. businesses of the $26 billion multinational corporation. Ramsey replaces former U.S. Industry Business Senior Vice President Andy Gravitt, who announced his retirement, effective Feb. 1, 2012, after nearly 20 years with Schneider Electric.

Ramsey will report directly to global Industry Business Executive Vice President Clemens Blum, and will be responsible for spearheading the overall sales and growth strategy of the business. She will also direct the division in the innovation and development of the most intelligent and comprehensive solutions available for machine builders and industrial end users.

"Mary has an extensive background in the Industry business and a proven track record of driving growth and customer passion in our business," said Blum. "We are in a unique position to help our customers reduce their energy, optimize their efficiencies and streamline production. Mary has the leadership capabilities and deep understanding of our solutions and customers to lead these efforts and continue our strong growth in the U.S."

"In her new role, Ramsey will work with the U.S. Industry business to address their customers’ critical manufacturing and industrial challenges," the company said in a press release. "Ramsey will also drive solutions across all core businesses of Schneider Electric to develop custom, comprehensive energy management platforms encompassing all domains of customers’ global enterprises – including buildings, energy and infrastructure, industry and power."

Previously, Ramsey served as the Senior Vice President of Sales of Schneider Electric’s Europe Industry Business. She first joined Schneider Electric while serving at Pro-face America, which was acquired by Schneider Electric in 2004, as the General Manager and Vice President of Sales for North and South America. With more than 20 years of experience in industrial automation, Ramsey has held various positions in sales, marketing and business development at UBS Financial Services, Matrikon International, Instrinsyc, Intellution, Inc., GE Fanuc – Industrial Automation Division and Cincinnati Electrosystems.

Ramsey earned her bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Kentucky, as well as her master’s in business administration from the Loyola University Graduate School of Management in Chicago.
