Dallas-based Rexel, an electrical and datacom equipment distributor, announced that its customers can now take advantage of lamp, ballast and battery recycling services offered through the company’s 325 locations across the United States.

Working with Veolia Environmental Services, Rexel will offer RECYCLEPAK kits and bulk recycling services. Customers who purchase lamps and ballasts from a Rexel branch can now buy recycling services from the same place.

“Lighting upgrades to existing buildings usually involve replacement of lamps and ballasts,” explained Robert Stroescu, Rexel’s national lighting product manager. “These items must be disposed according to federal and local regulations.

The customer can recycle at the same place he or she purchases lighting equipment. Veolia offers RECYCLEPAK kits, which feature prepaid packaging. For information about the program go to www.rexelusa.com/locations/locations.aspx .
