Southland Industries is performing design-build mechanical and plumbing services for the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center located in Fort Hood, Texas.

Interstitial building space (IBS) is used throughout the hospital. An IBS system in a building allows for superior access for maintenance and renovation without disruption to the adjacent occupied spaces.

The enthalpy wheel enclosure is awaiting wheel media installation. The insulated panel enclosures separate the fresh and exhaust airstreams while the wheels transfer energy and moisture from the exhaust to the fresh air supply.

Steam, heating hot water, chilled water, and condenser water systems within the central utility plant. Utility distribution funnel connects the central plants to the hospital.
