The SmartLoop internal recirculation system reduces stagnation and maintains water quality. Courtesy: The Viega GroupThe SmartLoop system by Viega helps maintain water quality by maintaining temperature and reducing water stagnation. It can be used in multi-story commercial applications, such as hotels, schools or hospitals. It uses a supply riser to insulate the internal recirculation line tubing, significantly reducing return line heat loss. The system's design reduces stagnation points in hot water systems, reducing the risk of waterborne pathogens such as Legionella. The system offers several advantages including energy and water consumption savings potential of up to 40%. The installation requires no separate return pipe, uses less insulation and uses fewer fittings, supports, penetrations and core drilling than a conventional recirculation installation.
