In retrospect, how far have we come?
With the the World Climate Conference going on in Copenhagen, the CSE staff has put together a two-year collection of columns on climate change, sustainability, and the green market movement.

In honor of the World Climate Conference in Copenhagen, and the seemingly fruitless discussions about climate change, sustainability, and going green, Consulting-Specifying Engineer has put together a two-year compilation of its back page column "Green Space".
Over the past two years, the green/sustainability market has undergone major changes. This collection of columns from industry experts documents the changes in the green marketplace as they were happening; and occasionally, accurately predicts the changes in the market.
As the holidays approach and people take much deserved time off from work, we hope these light-reading articles will provide you with an opportunity to look back in retrospect and ask yourself a few questions about the green movement:
• What changes, both at home and at work, have you made that helped contribute to a smaller carbon footprint and a more energy-efficient lifestyle?
• How has the green movement directly affected your line of work? Have the initial costs of implementing energy efficiency upgrades been paid back in full yet? If not, are they on track? If not, why?
• Moving into 2010 and beyond, where do you see the green movement headed? Is this green movement a fad? A buzzword? A trend of the times? Or are energy efficiency, IAQ, water conservation, and other facets of sustainability permanent design criteria for homes, commercial buildings, and business operations?
