IBE Consulting Engineers (IBE) has added Dawn Hollingsworth as director of lighting design.

“IBE Lighting Design is reinvigorated by the hiring of Dawn Hollingsworth as director,” said Alan Locke, founder and principal of IBE Consulting Engineers. “Her award-winning design skills and leadership experience will be an important part of the future of our lighting design department.”

Hollingsworth joins IBE with more than 20 years of industry experience, most recently as managing partner at Visual Terrain Inc. She has garnered industry recognition for creating lighting solutions for a wide range of civic, commercial, and private, and public mixed-use projects. Hollingsworth was honored as the Architectural Lighting Designer of the Year by Lighting Dimensions International in 2000, in addition to winning numerous awards from the International Assn. of Lighting Designers (IALD), Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), and the International Interior Design Assn. (IIDA). She is a Lighting Certified (LC) professional, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Design and Technical Production from the University of Oklahoma, and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University.

“Leading IBE Lighting Design is an exciting opportunity to blend lighting design with IBE’s commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability,” Hollingsworth said. “I look forward to assuming a leadership role in such projects as the Frederick Fisher and Partners Architects-designed Lois & Robert F. Erburu Gallery at The Huntington Library in San Marino, Calif., and the THA Architecture-designed Scripps Institution of Oceanography Marine Ecosystem Sensing, Observation and Modeling (MESOM) Laboratory at UCSD.”

IBE Lighting Design is an in-house department that offers comprehensive interior and exterior lighting design services from earliest concept development through installation. While operating independently, the lighting department can draw on the resources of IBE to create aesthetically sophisticated, high-performance, and technologically advanced architectural lighting schemes.
